HCBA WRITES TO MUFASSIL BARSGK NEWS NETWORK
Srinagar, Jan 23: The High Court Bar Association today wrote to the Mufassil Bars of the Phalgam, Sonamarg and Ramban districts to provide information and revenue records about selling land to non-State subjects at Sonamarg, Pahalgam and Patnitop. Last month the Bar said it was in possession of documents which reveals that revenue officials in these areas along with land brokers have entered into conspiracy and have sold land to non-state subjects at Phalgam, Sonamarg and Patnitop. The Bar said though it possesses huge documentary evidence it still asked for more information. The Bar has written to concerned Bar Associations of the concerned Mufassil to come out with more details about the practice. “In this entire design a group of brokers is active across the valley and at Patnitop Jammu. The brokers are luring the locals with high cost sales and are in league with the revenue authorities in the concerned areas. Since the matter is of very serious nature as a particular group of persons are bent upon to scarify the national and public interest for their particular individual interests,” the Bar general secretary G N Shaheen said. “On the basis of the agreements, the revenue authorities are in a process to enter in revenue records possessor rights (in Sahti Kashkalam) of the revenue records in the name of such prospective owners,” he said.
